Rippin' Happenings at LaxNW! - April 15, 2014
We have a lot happening here at Lacrosse Northwest with our usual amazing summer league line-up, as well as our boys' and girls' travel teams starting up again this summer! Our Girls' Rippers stand out as the best players in Oregon having secured 18/21 of the available roster spots for the Women's National Tournament Team (WNT). Good luck coaches Paje Stelling (Westview) and Julia Martin (Lakeridge) and Team Oregon. Oregon Represent!
Let's not forget the Oregon Girls' Youth Lacrosse Association (OGYLA) Select (powered by LaxNW) happening right now in the thick of our amazing Oregon spring lacrosse season with 135 girls participating from grades 5-8. Players were hand selected by a limited number of OGYLA coaches' nominations as well as a separate tryout was held for the girls who were not nominated. The competition was fierce and we can already see the level of play has risen since last year.
Our Boys' Rippers teams are shaping up quite nicely as we prepare to take on the World Games (Denver, CO) and other Tournaments this Summer.
Hey Portland Men's Rippers! "Way to Rip it Up!" this season with an 8-0 record leading the league in first place. We couldn't be more proud to sponsor such a fantastic group of guys. Hard work and dedication pays off!
Lastly, about our staff and folks in stripes... Having so many programs over the long haul, and continuing to grow, comes from having an amazing coaching staff and group of top notch officials. Our staff brings a level of passion and knowledge to our great sport that is unprecedented. We just wanted to say thank you to those who make us "look good" as we know we wouldn't be in this great place without you.
