We Have a New Partner in Growing the Game! - April 1, 2014
Lacrosse Northwest Press Release Newsletter: April 2014Lacrosse Northwest of Portland, OR and Madlax, Inc. from Washington, D.C. are proud to announce a new partnership that will provide opportunities for Portland area lacrosse athletes to compete at a national level. Through this partnership, student athletes competing on a Lacrosse Northwest Rippers travel team, will be eligible to play on both regional and national teams with Madlax. This opportunity will allow the athletes to have a greater advantage in having high level NCAA coaches watch them play, increasing their chances of being recruited to play lacrosse in college.
The MadLax All-Star teams scale from the highest AAA, called the Madlax National Team, AA level, called Orange Team, and A level, called Blue Team and compete in the nation's most exclusive and competitive tournaments. All players from all Madlax regional all-star programs are eligible to be invited to play on the Madlax National Team, which attends 1-2 tournaments per year.
Sarah Tomlinson, owner of Lacrosse Northwest states, "Lacrosse Northwest is a company with a distinctly local mission, to help players from Oregon reach their potential and to play lacrosse at the highest levels appropriate for them. Through this partnership with Madlax, we are excited to increase the kinds of opportunities that are available to our local players, and we trust that this partnership will help us continue to grow and improve the game of Lacrosse in the state of Oregon."
Madlax Founder and President, Cabell Maddux, is excited about this partnership, "I am extremely excited to welcome Lacrosse Northwest as a Madlax Partner Program. LaxNW has done an impressive job growing the game in Portland and surrounding area for years. We hope this partnership will enhance the overall lacrosse experience for the boys in their program and help attract the best players. LaxNW boys will be able to guest play with any Madlax team and even compete on a Madlax National Team. These opportunities will enable more competition for those who desire it and a chance to be seen and recruited by top NCAA coaches in some of the most prestigious tournaments in the nation while playing on a true national team with players from VA, MD, DC, FL, TX, CA and Canada. Madlax is very excited to see the best players from Oregon join our teams as soon as this summer 2014!"
On the impact that this partnership will have with the student athletes already on one of the Rippers teams, Rippers Travel Team Manager Dave Sanford had this to say, "The partnership with Madlax gives our players the ability to attend top level recruiting tournaments around the country and compete alongside top flight talent from the East Coast and California via guest play opportunities. Additionally, it creates opportunities for our top players to play on the Madlax National teams (alongside players from Baltimore, VA, FL and CA), which have a 100% NCAA recruitment rate. This unique opportunity will provide our players great options to play at the high level tournaments that are right for them, while still providing a great deal of flexibility in their scheduling which other clubs do not necessarily provide. We are thrilled to begin working with Madlax, one of the top clubs in the country, and particularly with Madlax owner Cabell Maddux whose strong recruiting connections will benefit Lacrosse Northwest players for years to come."
Lacrosse Northwest is looking forward to a great summer for all of our athletes and hope that you are as excited about this opportunity as we are. There are still a select number of spots available on our highest-level travel teams, as well as upcoming tryouts for our U15, U13 and U11 teams on April 13th.
