It’s FUN, it’s a blast. This is not BOX Lacrosse that the Lumberjaxs play, but a modified game with field lacrosse rules. So don’t worry, you will not be “crosse-checked” head first into the boards.

After hearing for years that box is so different from field lacrosse, I agree to an extent but mostly disagree. There is much more on-ball picking, the need by virtue of shooting angles to stay on the left if you are right-handed and vice versa, much smaller nets and with much larger and generously padded goaltenders. However, spacing is still a prime commodity, keeping the ball hot on offense is similarly important, and finding the ever-important 2v1 is key, all just as in field lax. Defensively, you are still mainly defending the high-percentage area by forcing opponents down the sides away from good shots and keeping sticks up and to the middle to defend skip passes when playing off-ball. -Inside Lacrosse
“I think Canadian longpoles have one advantage over American longpoles and that’s we’re comfortable handling the ball and we can get involved offensively,” says Merrill. “We like to move the ball and feel at ease doing it.” -Brodie Merrill
From the Booth: Breaking down USA's loss to Canada

Canada beating the United States is the best thing to ever happen to international lacrosse. After being pushed around for three decades, the Canadians turned the table on their rivals, beating the U.S. for the first time since 1978. They proved to be the better team - a more potent mix of talent and role players than Team USA.
They have 10% of the players that the U.S. does. They are under-funded. The rules don't favor their style of box lacrosse. Canada was 1-13 versus the U.S. prior to Saturday afternoon.
