National Lacrosse Referee Development PrOgram (LAREDO) - August 30, 2011
PRESS RELEASE- From Oregon Lacrosse Officials AssociationThe Oregon Lacrosse Officials Association (OLOA) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a national LAcrosse REferee Development PrOgram (LAREDO) in Hillsboro, Oregon on Oct 1st and 2nd. In association with Lacrosse Northwest (LAXNW) and U.S. Lacrosse (USLAX), the event will be held at the Hillsboro Stadium complex.
The purpose of LAREDO: to assist development and training of men’s High School and College level officials across the United States. The LAREDO program was developed by U.S. Lacrosse and hosted at various locations across the United States. This will be the first time that the Northwest has hosted this event.
Lacrosse Officials from the NW and across the US, may apply for this training program which will include classroom instruction, but the majority of the time will be spent on the field officiating college teams from the NW. College teams expected to participate in this two day event:
University of Portland/Portland State University/Pacific Lutheran/Western Oregon University/Southern Oregon University/University of Idaho.
Mike Wilkerson, University of Portland men’s coach, will be acting as the coordinator for all the college teams participating in this event.
During this two day event, these college teams will be playing a number of games at Hillsboro Stadium starting at 9am each day. The public is invited to attend and watch these teams play and admission is free to the public.
